In February , the Wheeler Centre introduced itself — and its programme — to Melbourne with its first ever event: a gala night of storytelling. Wielding an impressive line-up of Australian writers, they invited their speakers and audience alike to reflect on the stories that make us who we are — and to mark the beginning of their own.

Over the ten years since, the Wheeler Centre has become many things: a place for conversation, a place to meet, a place to write. A place to ask, learn and disagree. They’ve held major festivals, celebrated and supported writers unknown and well known, and heard the voices of more than 3, speakers on all kinds of topics. They’ve produced podcasts that grapple with painful and painfully important issues, and published on everything from masked passion to fast fashion. They even tried to fix your love life.

It’s been a big decade, and while they’re not immune to a pinch of nostalgia, they can’t wait to see what’s next. Join with the Wheeler Centre in February to celebrate their tenth birthday with a very special storytelling gala. You’ll hear from ten speakers — one from each storytelling gala of the past decade — sharing stories big and small, tender and rueful, funny and profound, on the topic of hindsight.

As the coronavirus outbreak affects people across the United States, educational institutions—including colleges where students live and study in close quarters, and K schools where children roam crowded hallways and cafeterias—have been forced to take drastic measures to prevent the virus from spreading. Although detection of antibodies to measure exposure, immunity, or both seems straightforward conceptually, numerous challenges exist in terms of sample collection, what the presence of antibodies actually means, and appropriate analysis and interpretation to account for test accuracy and sampling biases. Successful deployment of serologic studies depends on type and performance of serologic tests, population studied, use of adequate study designs, and appropriate analysis and interpretation of data.

We highlight key questions that serologic studies can help answer at different times, review strengths and limitations of different assay types and study designs, and discuss methods for rapid sharing and analysis of serologic data to determine global transmission of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2.
